Fiddler on the Roof a huge success!

The St. Anne performance of Fiddler on the Roof was a smashing success!  St. Anne welcomed over 400 people through its doors  to two sold out performances on April 27th and 28th.  The production was student-driven with cast and crew handling everything from top to bottom- costumes, makeup, sets, tech, and much more.  The performance served as the directorial debut for St. Anne teacher and actress, Ms. Saluda Camp. Congratulations to the many who helped make this performance the best yet!

An End to Violence!

The St. Anne Catholic School Girl Up Club led a mass dedicated to an end to all forms of violence across the world. We asked the students to  follow in Jesus’ renunciation of violence, practice of nonviolence, embodiment of peace, and resistance to injustice.
Violence against women and girls is one of the most widespread, persistent and devastating human rights violations in our world today. Girl Up is a United Nations Foundation campaign and movement for gender equality; through the campaign and our high school club, we raise funds for, advocate on behalf of, and empower all girls, everywhere, but especially those who are victims of violence. The Girl Up club is hosting our annual Purple for a Purpose event, in which students and faculty donate to “dress down” and wear purple, symbolizing girls and boys standing together in solidarity to support girls across the world. The funds will help support the club attend the Girl Up Leadership summit in Washington, D.C. this summer.
With the intention for the end to violence, we also called to mind the recent Stoneman Douglas High School Shooting; we dedicated this mass to all the victims, the victims’ families, as well as to all victims of gun-related violence; we prayed to see an to these heinous tragedies through the mass and also in a 17-minute service following the mass. To pair our prayer with optional political action, a St. Anne Catholic School Junior created advocacy cards that called upon our elected officials, Senators Scott and Graham, to pass comprehensive legislature that works to prevent gun-related violence. Two St. Anne Sophomores also created orange ribbons that the SAS students wore to stand in solidarity with the victims of the Parkland shooting.
